FAQS

How long does it take to complete a custom artwork?

The timeline for completing a custom artwork will vary depending on the complexity of the project.

As the medium chosen and size of the artwork may vary considerably, the time will vary as well.  Often the work can be done from one to three weeks depending upon these factors.  In addition will be the time it will take to mail/ship your art to you.

Our discussion with you about your desired art, as well as having high resolution photographs to work from, are essential to obtaining the results you desire.  Remember, the better the photograph for us to see, the better your painting!  However, for more specific timelines, please contact us by text or phone call.  We'll be happy to provide a more accurate estimate based on your project's details.

Can I request changes or revisions to my commissioned artwork?

We value your satisfaction with our artwork in every way.  If you desire, we will be glad to provide you with the progress of your work as it is being done.  Photos can be sent to you for your review.  As art is both a subjective and an objective process, we will discuss with you exactly what will be done to accomplish your goals.  In many cases, due to the nature of the medium, changes can be difficult as the medium itself does not allow for much variance once it is on the paper, mat, or other surface.  We will discuss this with you prior to the work being done if you desire customized work.

Your input is most important whenever customized work is being done.  Adjustments can possibly be made as the work progresses.

Try to have as many details as possible regarding the creative process.  This will include items such as

- Medium chosen (pastel, colored pencil, ink, graphite, watercolor, and other possible variations.

- Discussion regarding glass is essential due to the complexity of hand engraving glass exactly as you would like it to be done.

The size of your picture can vary depending on what you would like.  We need to know what this is due to the availability of the paper or what you would like your art to be done.  This is important for us to know.

What is the pricing structure for your custom artwork?

All artwork shown on the website is original.  Prints are not a part of the website.  If this changes, you will be notified in the future.

The price shown is shown for each existing work of art.

However, if you desire customized artwork, the pricing will vary substantially based upon the information you provide to us regarding the items mentioned above for pricing structure.

In addition, many of the art pieces are NOT matted or framed.  All of Ron Tate’s artwork is original and has no frame or mat included in the pricing. Therefore, his work is less expensive in several cases.

If you desire to purchase an original work of art that has been matted and framed or has been framed (without the mat), the pricing will increase based upon the frame that exists with the existing work of art.  ALL works with mat and/or frame are original.  The size of the individual works that have been framed/matted work does not include the size of the frame.  If you have questions about the frame/mat, please request this information from the artist.  The description shows the actual size of the art as well as other essential information.  Much of the art has been shown in galleries in various cities and may be in the artist’s possession or located in a gallery.  This can be discussed at a time of interest.
